New Staff And Lots of Awards Makes For A Very Busy Week!
We’ve welcomed three new members of staff to the Your IT Team recently.
The appointments of experienced engineer Josh Stevenson and apprentices Kieran Starbuck and Kyle Marlow takes Your IT to 13 staff overall and sees the IT Support team increased by over 50% in past six months.
Lee Hewson, Manging Director of commented ‘This has been a period of rapid growth and we’ve been fortunate to have been able to recruit another fantastic, experienced IT Support professional in Josh. He has fitted in tremendously well and adds further to the technical knowledge base of the business. In addition, we’ve been delighted to welcome on board Kieran and Kyle, two apprentices that we hope we’ll be able to develop and who will have real opportunities for progress as we continue to expand.’
In addition to announcing new staff last week was a busy week on the awards scene for Your IT. On Wednesday 24th May we were delighted to announce the winner of the Creative Business of the Year at the Nottingham Post Business Awards. Hallam Internet beat extremely strong competition from Distinction and JH to win the award and join other successful companies including double winners Agilitas, who walked away with the Service and International Trade Awards, and Company of the Year J Tomlinson. Sponsoring the category has been a fantastic experience for Your IT, we’ve made some good contacts and seen some really innovative and creative things from the finalists, some of which we are incorporating into our own business. For interviews with the successful businesses and a full list of winners visit the article on the Nottingham Post website – Winners Revealed – or get hold of the Post today for the post-event supplement.
On Thursday 25th it was time to move from sponsor to nominee for The Small Awards held at the Spectacular Christ Church in Spittlesfields, London. We had been shortlisted for the ‘At Your Service’ Award for small businesses that displayed outstanding customer service. Alas, we were not winners on the night, losing out to Busy Books from Wiltshire, who also scooped the Small Biz of The Year.
The evening was a really lively and upbeat celebration of the diversity, determination, and skills of small businesses throughout the UK. Your IT are immensely proud to have been shortlisted for these awards and we had a fantastic evening, including meeting the very funny Sue Perkins.
