The Man, The Myth, The Legend. Ladies & Gentleman it’s Ryan Bennett.

August 02, 2017

Our series of posts introducing the Your IT Team continues with our 2nd Line Support Engineer, Ryan Bennett.

What’s your role at Your IT?

I’m the first escalation point for customer issues, so when something cannot be easily fixed by the first line engineers and it requires a little more investigation and diagnostic’s it gets escalated to me.

I have become the go to guy for Sage issues in the team because we all know how great Sage support is and I am also heavily involved in managing some of our customer’s phone systems.

The main part of my job is customer service and ensuring the customer is happy that their issue is resolved.

Tell us a bit about your background:

I have been into computers from a very young age and have always wanted to pursue a career in IT. I left college at 17 and started an apprenticeship which got me several well-known Microsoft qualifications and two level 3 diplomas. Since then I have been advancing my skills and knowledge in IT.

What are the plans for the future?

I’m very keen to further develop my career with Your IT and develop my skills and experience to enable me to be a senior escalation point. I enjoy working with networks and would like to specialise in this area. I’m also interested in doing further qualifications including the Cisco CCNA qualification.

Away from work what do you like to do to relax?

I am keen on gardening and avoiding popular culture. I have a reputation amongst the rest of the team for being careful with my money and investing wisely – I can neither confirm nor deny this but I do have a lot of money and I own masses of gold. I’m also single but wouldn’t want the fact I’m really, really rich to influence any women that are reading!
