New Staff for Your IT
Meet the Team
We have strengthened the technical team here at Your IT with the appointment of two new team members.
Interviews took place at the beginning of the year but start dates had to be put back due to lock down as we developed new induction and training procedures to incorporate social distancing and remote working.
The two finally joined us in mid-June and have been getting up to speed with Your IT’s systems and procedures. You may already have spoken to them, and they’ve certainly rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in, but we wanted to give them a formal introduction.
Firstly, let us introduce experienced IT Engineer Oliver Lowe who has joined the business having previously worked at Central IT.
Once settled in Oliver will be an escalation point for our apprentices and junior techs, providing that additional technical knowledge and experience that is sometimes required for more complex issues.
Fern Ritchie has recently returned to the UK from New Zealand and has joined us an Apprentice Engineer. This is a career change for Fern who has had a number of interesting past positions including Engineering Technician in the Royal Navy and Boat Tour Guide.
Fern has already shown plenty of technical acumen, a great attitude to customers and a real willingness to learn.
These new appointments bring our total staff up to 15.
Lee Hewson, Managing Director commented ‘We are delighted to get both Oliver and Fern onboard. The delays have been frustrating for everyone, but our induction process involved a lot of learning by watching, with new starts spending time sitting with experienced team members. We’ve had to look at alternative methods of getting new team members up to speed. It’s been another challenge thrown up by Coronavirus and the lockdown’
Lee continues ‘Whilst Coronavirus has had some negative effects on our industry, we’ve been unable to get out to clients sites and complete infrastructure projects for example, our core Managed Services business has been extremely busy. There is some doom and gloom around the economy, but businesses have become even more aware of how vital IT is and we are feeling excited and cautiously optimistic about the future’
